Always a Princess

Today the weather was wonderful. A perfect break from the steady stream of rain. I decided that I would walk to Charlie's babysitter's house after school. I had forgotten that Charlie had taken two babies and two blankies with her this morning. I had the duty of carrying one of Charlie's beloved babies and blankies on the way home. Of course, the whole way I was told how to correctly hold the baby. "Not that way mommy! This way!" Charlie decided her baby needed a piggy back ride. At least half the way home, Charlie held her baby on her shoulders. Our five minute walk home also turned into a fifteen minute walk. She is curious about everything. Why do we lose that as we get older? She has to stop to talk to everything as well. "Hi girl, Hi doggies, oh doggies, hi, hi, hi doggies!" She is quite the site. I can only imagine what passersby were thinking as they saw Charlie talking to everything and me laughing hysterically. When we were pretty close to home Charlie yelled, "Hey, hone (her version of home)!" Unfortunately, the gravel driveway brought many small obstacles for her. PUDDLES! What to do. She really wanted to jump in them, but she didn't want to get her new sandles wet. Ultimately, she decided against jumping in the puddles. Her pondering was entertaining to say the least. As we come to the conclusion of my blog we get to the point of the title. When we reached our house, Charlie asked, "Where's frog?" Brennen had captured a frog (I know, I know he isn't a little environmentalist yet) and Charlie was wanting to see it. I thought Brennen had already released it. Charlie knew otherwise. "Go in garage mommy, I see frog." Sure enough, when we got in the garage there was a bucket with a frog in it. Charlie peered into the bucket and said, "Ew I not like frog, I not kiss it!" It took everything I had not to crack up. She really is a princess.
